    Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an empirically validated treatment model designed to address problems of extreme emotion dysregulation, parasuicidal and suicidal behaviors. DBT was developed by Marsha Linehan in the late 1980’s after other treatment protocols were unsuccessful in decreasing the chronic behaviors of a specific diagnostic group.

    DBT-PE

Dialectical Behavior Therapy-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) is an evidenced based treatment used to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  DBT-PE was developed by Melanie Harned to treat PTSD in high-risk clients who have received or currently receive DBT treatment.  The protocol used in DBT-PE is based on prolonged exposure therapy and was adapted to meet the needs of clients in this high-risk group.

    Individual Therapy

This type of therapy focuses on the roots of the clients suffering.  The primary focus is to reveal content in the  clients’ unconscious to alleviate inner conflict within the mind that was created during extreme stress. Psychodynamic psychotherapy uses the relationship between client and therapist to aid in the client’s understanding of problematic relationships in their lives. This modality is a longer term solution towards clients’ problems.

    Family Therapy

Family therapy is an approach that addresses psychological issues within the context of family dynamics.  Therapists work with families to identify and understand patterns of communication, behavior, and interaction that contribute to challenges.  The focus is on improving these dynamics to promote healthier relationships and resolve conflicts.  This collaborative process helps family members gain insight, enhance communication skills, and build stronger connections, fostering a supportive environment for overall psychological well being.
